The 2012 Bucket List..

This morning I woke up and started reflecting on this year

and all the things I didn't do...

I didn't find that one client that would allow me
to spec shiny black bathroom walls...

Or glossy painted black mill work...

and I never really did wear all those great mixed prints
that I fell in love with during fashion week...

be still my heart..

and I didn't go to that really perfect eco-resort

in that really exotic location with the really cool interior design..

I never did get to Morocco..

bummer, I really wanted to..

I didn't update my blog as much as I should have

or write about the 'Pink' trend I was was seeing in furniture and fabrics...

but I kept seeing it everywhere..
and I kept meaning to write about it..

All of these things will have to remain on my bucket list for 2012...

and I can reflect and be grateful for all the things
I did accomplish in 2011...

I hugged most of the people I love..

I completed the design of a really modern home
located on a bluff overlooking the ocean

and I did...
design my first custom made bed

I traveled to Chicago, Seattle, Santa Fe, San Jose del Cabo, Mexico,
and many places in California.

Santa Fe, New Mexico

I spent an amazing week in the Desert

with about 50,000 really lovely, creative people..

And a few close friends..

saw some amazing art..

danced until the sun came up...

and rode my bike everywhere..

I am in L O V E

Me + the amazing LOVE sculpture
"LOVE" by Laura Kimpton and Jeff Schomberg
Each letter is 12 foot by 10 foot and made of rusted steel.

I walked across the Golden Gate Bridge for the first time

added 133 new friends to Facebook (!)

got lost on a Desert road in Mexico looking for a hot springs pool

Modelo's + GPS a must in Mexico

we found it..

I taught my daughter how to drive

watched both my sister & my brother get married

celebrated a milestone birthday with a lovely group of friends..

watched many Sunsets..

and an amazing sunrise from a beach in Mexico..
December + Sunrise + Cabo Surf Hotel + Coffee = Bliss

I found a new favorite poem..

Ten thousand flowers in springtime
A cool breeze in summer
The moon in autumn
Snow in winter
If your mind isn't clouded by unnecessary things
This is the best season of your life.
-Poet Wu Men —

It's been amazing year

Happy New Year

my friends..

love, light &

to you in 2012

2012 Tangerine is the Color of the Year

Love this color!

"Sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive, Tangerine Tango is an orange with a lot of depth to it,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “Reminiscent of the radiant shadings of a sunset, Tangerine Tango marries the vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy.”

Great color in your home or on your body..

Recently completed home on Seacliff Drive

Welcome.. very happy to share some of the photos from a recently completed project in Aptos, CA.

The 22ft entry foyer give the house a remarkable drama from the start.

Custom Master bed 'floats' in the room facing the picture window and views of the Ocean.

I added a stainless detail to the stair risers to add a modern twist to the Walnut wood, glass & stainless steel staircase

Wrap-around Macasar Ebony bar and dining room buffet

Love the entry chandelier!
I wanted it to highlight the wonderful architectural detail in the 22ft tall Foyer

A Macasar Ebony Dining table custom made for this space.
The home has incredible views from Monterey Bay to Pleasure Point, Santa Cruz.

Floating Vanity with Walnut veneer and a mineral glass sink and countertop

I worked closely with the architect, Tom Thatcher, Thatcher Thompson Architects, to select the exterior materials and colors.

Bench seat and mantle at fireplace made from polished Concrete

Views to the kitchen

Dining Room Buffet

Stainless tile, hood detail
